Golden Sun Series

 

Hiiiii guys, in this post, I’m going to introduce you to one of the best game series I’ve ever played in my time of growing up. Hence, the coming posts too are going to describe the game, as well as the whole series.

The Golden Sun series is a series of video games created by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo for various portable systems. At present, three games have been released. Nintendo and Camelot have shown interest in producing a fourth game in the future. There has also been a minor series cameo appearance in another Nintendo game, and a Japanese-only humor volume as well.

 

Hiroyuki Takahashi


The Golden Sun series were created by the Takahashi Brothers, consisting of Hiroyuki and Shugo Takahashi. According to the creator, the series were conceived as a way to compete against Sony’s Playstation console that were dominating the market at the time.

In Golden Sun, the player plays as protagonist Isaac and his companions as they set off into the world of Weyard to prevent a group of anti-heroes from releasing a mysterious power called Alchemy.

Players are accompanied by Djinns that come in four different elements; Venus resembling Earth, Mars resembling Fire, Mercury resembling Water and Jupiter resembling Air.

 

The Golden Sun Trilogy consists of Golden Sun, Golden Sun: The Lost Age and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, and all three of them will be detailed in the next post. Until next time!
