Who Is Pelé?
Soccer legend Pelé became a superstar with his performance in the 1958 World Cup. Pelé played professionally in Brazil for two decades, winning three World Cups along the way, before joining the New York Cosmos late in his career. Named FIFA co-Player of the Century in 1999, he is a global ambassador for soccer and other humanitarian causes.
Childhood
Pelé was born Edson Arantes do Nascimento on October 23, 1940 in Três Corações, Brazil, the first child of João Ramos and Dona Celeste. Named after Thomas Edison and nicknamed "Dico," Pelé moved with his family to the city of Bauru as a young boy.
João Ramos, better known as "Dondinho," struggled to earn a living as a soccer player, and Pelé grew up in poverty. Still, he developed a rudimentary talent for soccer by kicking a rolled-up sock stuffed with rags around the streets of Bauru. The origin of the "Pelé" nickname is unclear, though he recalled despising it when his friends first referred to him that way.
As an adolescent, Pelé joined a youth squad coached by Waldemar de Brito, a former member of the Brazilian national soccer team. De Brito eventually convinced Pelé's family to let the budding phenom leave home and try out for the Santos professional soccer club when he was 15.

Diego Maradona’s Early Life & Childhood
Diego Armando Maradona was born on 30 October 1960, into a poor family in Lanús in Buenos Aires, but grew up in Villa Fiorito, still located in Buenos Aires. He was the first male child born to his parents, Diego Maradona (father) and Dalma Salvadora Franco (mother).
From an early age, Maradona had shown great interest in football that at the age of 3, a football was presented to him as a present. He soon began playing football locally and by the time he was 8 years old, he was spotted by a scout, Francisco Cornejo, who was astounded by his impressive football skills while he was playing for Estrella Roja, a local football club in his neighbourhood.
Barcelona (1982–1984)
Following an impressive stint at the 1982 World Cup, Maradona moved to Barcelona for what was a world record amount of £5 million. His first trophy with Barcelona was the 1983 Copa Del Rey. In the El Classico held in June of that year, Maradona scored a very amazing goal against Real Madrid that fans in the stadium including opponent fans applauded him. He was the first Barcelona player to receive such ovation. His career soon was under threat after he was infected with Hepatitis and also sustained a fractured arm which took three months for him to recover from.
His stay at Barcelona wasn’t just successful it was also dramatic. In the 1983/84 Copa Del Rey final against Atletico Bilbao, Maradona was subjected to xenophobic taunts as well as rough tackles by Bilbao players particularly Miguel Sola. As the game ended in a 1-0 defeat for Barcelona, Sola taunted Maradona and the two exchanged insults which resulted in Maradona head-butting Sola, which led to brawls as Bilbao players tried to beat Maradona, leading to the intervention of Barcelona players.
COMING UP,WE WILL PROCEED TO THE MAN THAT INSPIRED NETHERLANDS THAT NAMED THIER NATIONAL STADIUM AFTER HIS NAME WHICH IS KING JOHAN CRUYFFFF.
Johan Cruyff, byname of Hendrik Johannes Cruijff, (born April 25, 1947, Amsterdam, Netherlands—died March 24, 2016, Barcelona, Spain), Dutch football (soccer) forward renowned for his imaginative playmaking. He won numerous honours, including European Footballer of the Year (1971, 1973, and 1974).
Cruyff joined the youth development squad of Amsterdam’s Ajax soccer club when he was 10 years old. He was 17 when he made his debut with the senior team. After helping Ajax win six league titles, four national cups, and three European Champion Clubs’ Cups (now known as the UEFA [Union of European Football Associations] Champions League), he was transferred to FC Barcelona in 1973. Captained by Cruyff, Barcelona won the Spanish League championship in 1974 and was runner-up in 1976 and 1977.
The temperamental Cruyff, along with Franz Beckenbauer of West Germany, was regarded as the world’s finest player in an era when the European game was dominated by “total football,” a style of play developed by Dutch coach Rinus Michels that emphasized all-around skill, versatility, and creativity. Cruyff debuted with the Dutch national team when he was 19 and went on to score 33 goals in 48 international matches. In the 1974 World Cup tournament, the Dutch team, led by Cruyff and including Johan Neeskens and Ruud Krol, put on a memorable display of total football that earned them the nickname “Clockwork Orange” (a name borrowed from the novel but inspired by the team’s orange jerseys). Although the Netherlands lost to West Germany in the championship match, Cruyff’s individual brilliance won him the tournament’s Golden Ball (Most Valuable Player) award.
